Report: Ezekiel Elliott among several Cowboys positive for COVID-19

Running back Ezekiel Elliott is one of many Dallas Cowboys players who have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport on Monday morning, several Cowboys players and several Houston Texans players tested positive for the novel coronavirus. According to Rapoport, none of the players were thought to have been at team facilities, and the respective clubs are following proper health protocols.

The positive test for Elliott was confirmed by the All-Pro running back’s agent, Rocky Arceneaux.

“We fully expect that we will have positive cases that arise,” NFL chief medical officer Allen Sills said. “Our challenge is to identify them as quickly as possible and prevent spread to any other participants.”

Sills also told NBC Sports’ Peter King on June 8 that he expects the NFL season to kickoff on time with the Texans facing the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 10 at Arrowhead Stadium.
