GRAND ISLE, La. (AP) — A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agent has rescued nine people from an overturned boat — including a 7-year-old girl who was under the boat and needed CPR to start breathing again.
A department news release says Sgt. Stephen Rhodes was patrolling afoot on the Grand Isle beach when he saw a boat capsize Saturday.

A spokesman says an ATV driver saw Rhodes running for his boat, drove him there and helped him launch.
The statement says Rhodes got eight people into his boat, then flagged down another boat to hold his steady while he went in to look for the girl. The department says she was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover fully.
