RACELAND, La. (AP) — A Louisiana man is in custody facing several charges after biting a deputy who was trying to arrest him for home invasion and battery. The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, in a news release Tuesday, said 30-year-old Scotty Poindexter, of Raceland, was arrested Sunday after he reportedly forced his way into a relative’s home, argued with a woman inside and allegedly punched her in the face. As deputies began to take him into custody, the sheriff’s office said he began resisting. During the struggle, authorities said he bit a deputy on the arm The deputy was treated at an area hospital and released.
